Why all of this?

As for the "grassroots" suggestions, these probably need no explanation: Any debut author has a tough time making a dent, but this "tough time" is made a whole lot easier if those who adore the book help spread the word!

And as for my request that you take a few minutes to write a review 'whether or not you enjoyed the book' - this is largely because it is nice for readers to have plenty of different opinions to pick through. This will better help them assess whether or not they feel the book is right for them...

Thanks for your time, Dear Reader. And perhaps you are willing to donate just a few minutes more with a review, or with whatever else you think of...

One of my favorite things these days is when I come across a review that calls The Great Lenore a "page-turner" (or that says something to that effect). It's fun, because most literary novels are not exactly page-turners...and the fact that many readers have felt this way about the novel has been an enjoyable development.

Here are some of my favorite snippets from such reviews:

I couldn't put it down. I read it in two evenings.

I was expecting it to be very good. What I did not expect was that I would not be able to set it down.

It's not full of action and explosions. It's not a thrilling whodunit. It's simply a very well-written story that keeps you right on the edge of your seat for every page.

I devoured the first 6 chapters in short time and finished off the book a few hours later after I fulfilled work obligations.

I read this book today, stopping for about an hour an a half for my massage appointment, which I almost missed because I was so engrossed in the story.

You won't want to put it down & you will continue thinking about it long after you have finished it.

From beginning to end I could do nothing but tear through each page to the next.

This is a great read. I could not put it down.

How about you?

Could you not put it down?

Could you not finish it?

Pitch in! - take a few minutes to let readers know.

Cheers.
