Happy Lenore Day

Good morning, world.

The Great Lenore is in stores today.

Many of you who pre-ordered the book have received your copy already.

Some of you are reading already.

Some of you have been looking forward to this day for a while.

And soon, today will pass, and we'll all move onto the next thing. So while I have your attention, here are five quick hits...

1. If you happen to take a picture of your copy of The Great Lenore (or of yourself and your copy of The Great Lenore) and post it online, make sure you tag or "@-reply" me in it. I'm collecting pictures right now. A collage might be in order.

2. When you finish reading The Great Lenore, make sure you loan your copy to someone. And tell them to loan it to someone when they finish. And so on.

3. Also, when you finish, please consider taking a few minutes to write a short review on Amazon; this will make a big difference. (You can also post the review on other sites, such as Goodreads and Shelfari and Barnes & Noble and Borders, ad nauseam.)

4. You know where to find me; let me know your thoughts on the book when you finish. Even if you don't like it.

5. If you enjoy the book, please help spread the word. Think of one person who might like it and (as I said) loan the book to them. Think of another person who might like it and tell them about it. Call your local bookstore to ask them if they have any copies in stock (which will prod them to make sure they have copies in stock). Encourage your book club to consider The Great Lenore. Every little bit helps - truly. Every little bit.

Ah yes. You want to know what name I have chosen in the Name A Character contest?

Jerontius "Runt" Crawford.

Courtesy of Mickey Diamond...

Longtime readers of the blog will recognize Mickey Diamond's name, as he is the Writer Friend of mine who I most admire. But this is not nepotism; I promise. I wanted to pick someone else's - but I couldn't. I just couldn't. "Runt" was too good.

But since Mickey read The Great Lenore way back when she existed just in Word documents and stacks of paper printed from standard printers (and is therefore in line for a free copy of the book anyway - whenever I get around to mailing it out), I am also going to give a copy of The Great Lenore to my second favorite suggestion: Richard Ayad's Buford Dee.

Richard - email me your address when you get a chance. And I'll real-mail you a book.

Cheers to all.

Happy Lenore Day.

(Remember: Every little bit helps.)
