My Trademark Roll Call Response

When I was in grade school, I thought it was downright clever to say "President" instead of "Present" whenever the teacher called my name on the roll call.

Yeah. It wasn't clever at all.

It seems like I remember a lot of variations on "present" and "here." I bet none of them were very funny.

Roll call!

"Jordan Tohline?"

"President."

[Suppressed giggles.]

"Ah - very nice, Jordan. Moving on...Reader?" (← 'Reader' - that's you.)

Reader, what was your trademark roll call response?

  1. You must be a lot younger than I am. Not that that's anything new; most of the world is younger than me (and ALL of the internetizens).

I never went to a school where anything other than "Here!" or "Present!" wouldn't have resulted in The Trip Down The Hall.

    Levi.

  2. Sadly, I never tried to be witty with roll calls. My name was one of the first ones on the list, so the teacher either looked at me first, or I just shouted "yeah" or "here" when my name was called.

    Epic fail.

I had ADD before ADD was a thing.
