He was an odd-looking man. Not odd-looking in the sense that you would see him on the street and point and laugh. Just odd-looking in that he...he didn't look like an everyday dude.
Turns out, he wasn't an everyday dude.
He was being interviewed about the Hunter-Gatherer Diet.
The Hunter-Gatherer Diet entails (well, why don't you take a moment and guess what the Hunter-Gatherer Diet entails) - that's right, you guessed it - eating all the same foods that hunter-gatherers ate.
Fruits, vegetables, seafood, lean meats, nuts, and nothing else.
I am not here to suggest that you try this diet. (Okay, that's wrong - maybe I do suggest that you try it. But only for fun. Not for real.)
But I do think this guy had the right ideas about some things.
You know how this guy works out? I'll tell you. He works out by throwing large rocks and by running through the woods over streams and fallen trees and whatever else is out there - in fact, he cited the Na'vi from Avatar as a pretty good picture of the way he lives his life.
And...maybe that's a poor example of him "having the right ideas," but. I don't know. Something about this guy's lifestyle struck me - something so basic about the pursuits he chases. And I think it struck me because...he's making something happen in his life.
We all are wired somewhat like that. We all have a yearning for freedom. We all have a desire to live.
There are other ways to live, of course, besides jumping on this guy's bandwagon and riding it all the way back to caveman times. But there are also worse examples you could follow than his.
Remember: You *want* to live. You were born to adventure and to experience and to enjoy.
Don't just slog through every day - each day no different from all the days around it.
Go out and do something. Live.
Make something happen in your life.
